A handful of ducks

Eine Handvoll Enten

Are you bored yet? I promise, this is the final blog about „Ab in den Teich“.

Last, but not least, I designed and cut a jet of water shooting up from the center of the pop-up book. Ducks, twelve to be precise, make a beeline for it from all directions of the compass. I should have let them face outwards, to an imaginary rim of the pond, because that is where they are usually headed. In real life, as soon as the ducks spot a potential source of food – that is a human, who might be willing to share a piece of bread – they home in on their target and approach from all quarters. On my last visit I forgot to bring bread and I am sure you can imagine the indignant quacking, when the ducks expectations were not met. But I digress.

At last it was time to assemble the different parts of „Ab in den Teich“ and a new book was born. In my humble opinion it is truly amazing what can be accomplished with a sheet of paper, a reused page of an old book, glue and a scalpel.
