Colour Bliss #9

Colour Bliss #9

It is a mystery to me why I have so many shades of yellow in my yarn stash. Can colour sneak up to you? I do not plan to knit anything using yellow yarn in the near future, but for winding an autumnal colour palette it comes in handy.

Last saturday I took a walk in the Vienna woods in the hope of boosting my creativity, which is rather low at the moment. It had rained in the morning, but later the sun came out and turned the leaves into a sea of gold. I liked the contrast of vibrant yellows and subdued browns on grey tarmac. Mushrooms are past their prime by now, so I delved into my archive to come up with a few pictures to complement the abundancy of leaves.

Crabby Red Crab

Rotkrabbe ist schlecht gelaunt

Red Crab has what most of us are in dire need of: space and a house of its own. For exercise it can take a solitary walk in the rock garden. Food is brought to the door. Month ago, to fight boredom, Red Crab decided to learn to tapdance with six legs, to practice standing on one claw while meditating and to work on its pronounciation of bubblespeak. Progress has been slow, but Red Crab is now capable to enunciate „I want to see my friends!“ perfectly in more than one language.

The Dragon of the Lake

Der Drache im See

The little waterdragon sat at the bottom of the lake. „The world has become such a cold, cruel place,“ it moaned. „I will stay down here and hide.“ It was so frightened that it began to blow bubbles to calm itself.
After a while a tiny voice at the back of its mind wailed: „But what about your friends on the surface!“ So the little waterdragon gathered its courage and ascended to the surface of the lake to check on duck and muskrat – and offer help, if needed

Made long before SARS-CoV-2 hit, I hope my paper dragon gives you joy in these dark times.
